A stream in a Toronto park has turned bright blue and nobody knows why

Toronto residents were alarmed to see a stream turn a Smurf-like blue this week and no one seems to know why.
Daniel Underdown tells blogTO he took a photo of the stream in Tom Riley Park in Etobicoke on Sunday. The stream had turned a milky blue. It smelt strongly of detergent, Underdown says.
Underdown took several photos of the stream this week.
He called the City of Toronto s 311 line and says they got back to him suggesting it was just a natural foam. He asked if they tested the water, but so far hasn t heard back.

There has been a slew of opposition to various aspects of the plan for the Ontario Line, the $11 billion subway project that will run 15 stops across Toronto, cutting travel time from Exhibition Place to the Science Centre down to just 30 minutes.
Much of the public s concern has been about the portions of the 16 km route that are due to be built above ground in part to save on time and expenditures and what businesses, public spaces and even homes may be lost in the process.

LAHORE: Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) on Thursday approved awarding development works contract of Quaid-e-Azam Business Park Sheikhurapura with a downwards revised cost of Rs8.49 billion.
The decisions were made in the 148th meeting of the PIEDMC board of directors, chaired by Syed Nabil Hashmi. The board approved the minutes of the 147th board meeting and reviewed implementation of previous decisions.
PIEDMC Chairman Syed Nabil Hashmi directed the concerned officers to expedite the development work related to the managed industrial estates especially Quaid-e-Azam Business Park.
The board of directors on the recommendations of the Procurement Committee approved Rs2.9 million for third party validation of Quaid e Azam Solar Park Bahawalpur and Rs11.8 million for CCTV surveillance system operations and maintenance. It also approved Rs35.7 million for access road from National Highway to Bahawalpur Industrial Estate,

A SIX-year-old girl has died after battling Covid as officials said she was healthy with no underlying conditions.
Week Day, who was a first-grader from Minnesota, passed away on Sunday in hospital.

She was described as a lively girl who loved singing songs and dancing in an obituary. She brought both immeasurable love and joy to her family, friends, and community, the tribute read, while stressing the big impact that she made in her life.
“Cambridgeshire Police should not be retreating behind locked doors.
“Online or phone access are not always appropriate and is a further weakening of community engagement.
“Any savings now could be illusory if the police become less effective and legitimate as a result. If elected, I shall restore a walk-in service.”
